Here is some helpful information on measuring for a couch so you can ensure everything will fit perfectly.
#1: Jot down the dimensions of the couch.
If you don’t have the product manual for your sofa or loveseat, you’ll need to do some measuring to figure out the sofa dimensions. First, use a tape measure to determine the sofa’s total width (at its widest point) and then the sofa height (from the floor to the top of the highest point, in cases where the couch has a curved back). Next, measure the total depth.
#2: Measure the space you are working with.
Do you have a place in mind where the couch will go? And do you know if it will fit in the front door and through the staircase? Maybe it will need to be brought in through a wider side door and into the living room, instead.
Measure the width of the staircase at its narrowest point and measure the door frames, too. Be sure to measure the height of the door frame in case you need to tip the sofa up and through. Remember to keep in mind the hallways and other doors inside that the couch may need to be carried through, including handrails or light fixtures in the area.
