The living room is a place of relaxation and socialization. It should be compatible with both things and encourage harmony between everyone in the room. So, when considering how to lay out your living room furniture, arrange it in a way that fosters communication.
Chairs and couches should be arranged to face each other whenever possible, as this encourages connection with others. In other words, put the emphasis on the people rather than the fireplace or the television.
Coffee tables (round, square or rectangular) can create a space surrounded by other types of furniture placements and pieces of furniture that will help foster conversations and positive energy.
Bedroom
The bedroom is a place where your health and restoration are the key things to keep in mind. Having a solid headboard behind the bed will help provide more secure sleep.
You should consider positioning the bed so you can have a view of the door from the bed. This includes placing your bed in a commanding position. Align it with the door — just not in a direct line with it. Arrange it so that you can enter the entryway regardless.
Dining Room
This area is also a place that promotes family. Food is shared here, conversations are had, and life is lived around a table. Holidays, special occasions, and regular day-to-day dinners with friends and family are part of what makes a dining room special.
Tables are best positioned in the center of the room where there is space to walk around. Having great lighting is also a good way to promote balance and healthy energy in the space.
